A list of minors and their requirements can be found at: http://www.gmu.edu/departments/advising/minors.html. Information on foreign language placement and test-out options is found here: http://mcl.gmu.edu/resources/placement_testing.html. BFA students do not have to take a foreign language or a minor, but they must take additional AVT major and concentration courses.

8. There are no special exceptions given to students who cannot attend classes when they are offered at the university. Students must make the necessary arrangements in their work and personal lives in order to attend classes.

9. Students must obtain permission from the CVPA dean before attending classes at another institution. Students need to see an advisor to fill out the appropriate paperwork for this request.

10. Late drop after the deadline is only considered for non-academic reasons with documentation and recommendation of the student’s academic advisor.

RA positions possible for the new AVT floor in housing

Dear students,
If you live on campus (or would like to) and are looking for a job for fall 2009, consider applying for a Resident Advisor position for the new AVT Living Learning Community (LLC). The LLC is currently being developed for fall 2009 as a floor in President's Park just for new AVT freshmen students. The AVT LLC will be grouped with other LLCs across campus.
Being an RA is a challenging and rewarding job. Good candidates for the position are at least sophomore standing, have a cumulative gpa of 2.5 or higher, are full-time students, and have a clean judicial record.
Not only will you be able to contribute your time and creativity to the first residence hall floor for AVT students, you'll also score some major perks (free room!).
If you're interested in learning more about becoming an RA, visit http://housing.gmu.edu/ra/index2.asp and then email me at sduval1@gmu.edu if you think you'd like to apply and I'll forward your contact information on to the selection committee.
